Junior Site Engineer

Ronan Sheridan Plant Hire operate in the fields of both commercial and residential construction and have the equipment and resources for jobs of any size ranging from small one-off housing to larger developments and industrial units. 

We are looking for a Junior Site Engineer to join our team, this may suit someone who has finished college or with min 2 years’ experience. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Site and team on a day-to-day basis 
  • Some Site Engineering experience preferred 
  • Ensuring that work is done safely, on time and to the ensure right quality standards 
  • Reviewing Materials Orders and Control, ensuring progress and carrying out safety checks 
  • Ability to deal with any day-to-day issues that could delay the project 
  • Liaising closely with the Engineer/Managing Director at all times 
  • Liaising closely with architects, engineers, surveyors and planners 
  • Ensuring all work completed compiles with health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements 
  • Updating and reporting back regularly on progress 

 

Ideal Candidate 

  • 2yrs+ experience as a site engineer or engineering experience 
  • CAD Proficient 
  • Engineering/Trade background would be highly beneficial 
  • Keen eye for detail and quality ensure project runs on time at a high quality 
  • Good Health & Safety experience 

 

Monday – Friday Hours

Salary: €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year

 The successful Candidate will be responsible for all management responsibilities and daily duties on site, delivering projects to the highest quality, on time, within budget and implemented within the required safety, quality, and environmental parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

 Responsible for day to day running of contracts and works on site to include but not limited to:

  • Management of team operatives on site;
  • Coordinate, schedule and manage subcontractors, tradespeople and others on site;
  • Involvement in planning weekly works;
  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and company policies on site to ensure highest standards are maintained and;
  • Keep detailed records of daily activities, progress reports, and material used on site while ensuring quality of work.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of at least 4+years as a Foreman or a similar supervisory role in the construction industry;
  • Civil works experience essential, Groundworks or plant background preferable;
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team;
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects undertaken or assigned;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail mandatory;
  • Be proficient in the English language with the ability to understand instructions from and communicate with site team;

We are currently seeking experienced Engineers for a number of high-density residential and commercial site development projects in Greater Dublin, Ireland.

The successful Candidate will work as part of a dynamic and innovative project team comprising of Senior members of Management, Foremen, other Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers and will be responsible for all Quantity Surveying works on site, delivering projects to the highest quality, on time, within budget and implemented within the required safety, quality, and environmental parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, checking, interpreting and monitoring contract plans, design drawings and/or quantities relevant to Civil works on a given project, and using these to plan and set out activities on site;
  • Setting out and checking works as required for a given project on site;
  • Recording survey and topographical information on an ongoing basis on a given project, and compiling drawings in Autocad format for as builts, valuation surveys;
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in a given project;
  • Attending weekly in house Management Team meeting of the Shannon Valley Group;
  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise;
  • Quality management and BCAR co-ordination;

Skill Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering (Civil/ Structural).
  • Strong experience as a Site Engineer on high rise projects with either a Developer and/or Main Contractor.
  • Proficiency in or strong setting out experience in using surveying equipment to include: GPS, Total Station, Automatic Level, Rotating laser and Drones.
  • Knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards would also be beneficial.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects undertaken or assigned.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail mandatory.
  • A clean international driving licence.
  • Be proficient in the English language with the ability to understand instructions from and communicate with site team.
